Center Matching the floors

why is it that the center channel has to match the floor standing speakers, does it sound better this way or does it match the Freq or somthing, any help is great!

The same reason why we use identical left and right speaker. It would be kinda weird to have a Klipsch on the left and a tiny Bose on the right.

The center has to match tonally in order to have as close to a seamless front soundstage as possible and this is why mixing brands in the front is a bad idea. The best bet is for all three front to be exactly the same but in most cases that's not possible so many speakers manufacturers use the same drivers in the mains and center only in a different configuration so they can make a horzizontal center. It all about tone and timbre matching in a HT system.
