hey guys i have the 563a dvd player.
i was thinking of a dac that upsampled cd's.

considering getting an exteranal dac for
redbook cd playback.

what do you guy's think of getting an external
dac for this unit, useless?

i have seen what realy look like some nice units
on audiogon.com "used" around $300 or less!

any suggestions?
anything to look for in a dac? upsampling or etc.
anything i should know?

strictly 2 channel.

thanks in advance!

Kegger,
You may want to look at this. Believe me it will blow you away. Uses some technology from the computer industry to buffer the sound and clean up timing and jitter correction. It will work in practicaly any mode and is very upgradable. I've had one of these for about a year now. Friend of mine uses one on a Linn CD12. Says it's better than the built in DAC!

thanks for the info mark.

but i think that thing is a little out of my price
range.

i'm just experimenting and would like to find used
around $300 or less like i've seen on audiogon.

theirs one of these units their for $2000 thats
just too much for what i'm doing.

thanks for the info though.

Be very interested to hear your results on this, I've only experimented with dearer DACs. I'm not sure what improvment you may get over the built in DACs at that price range.
Good luck.
