France, Spain, England, and Argentina are the final four teams left at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Here’s how to watch the semifinals, third-place match, and final.

The quarterfinals are complete, the host nations are long gone, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup has reached its final four.

France, Spain, England, and Argentina are the only teams still capable of lifting the trophy. There are no surprise survivors left, although Norway came painfully close to crashing the semifinal party.

France booked its place with a controlled 2-0 victory over Morocco, ending another impressive run by the 2022 semifinalists. Spain followed with a 2-1 win over Belgium, setting up a heavyweight semifinal between two teams that entered the tournament expecting to be here.

On the other side of the bracket, England defeated Norway 2-1 in Miami. That result will sting. Norway had already eliminated Brazil and looked capable of extending one of the tournament’s most compelling runs, but England found a way through and sent them home one match short of the semifinals. Erling Haaland and company deserved better than a quiet exit, although knockout football has never shown much interest in fairness.

Argentina completed the semifinal field with a 3-1 victory over Switzerland. The defending champions survived a lively Swiss side and now face England in a matchup unlikely to suffer from a shortage of history, pressure, or overwrought newspaper headlines.

The semifinal field therefore consists entirely of former World Cup champions: France, Spain, England, and Argentina. It is difficult to argue that any of them arrived by accident.

France and Spain offer the more technically refined matchup, with both sides capable of controlling possession and punishing even brief defensive lapses. England and Argentina should be considerably less restrained. The football may be excellent, but the psychological warfare will probably begin before either team reaches the tunnel.

The two losing semifinalists will meet in the third-place match on Saturday, July 18 at 5:00 p.m. ET. The winners advance to the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final on Sunday, July 19 at 3:00 p.m. ET at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Four teams remain. France are chasing a third title and their second in eight years. Spain are seeking their first since 2010. England are trying to end a wait that began in 1966. Argentina are two victories away from successfully defending the trophy.

Norway, sadly, are left to wonder how close they came.

The Quick Answer

All 104 World Cup matches are airing in English across FOX and FS1. Every match is also available live and on demand through FOX One and the FOX Sports app.

For Spanish-language coverage, Peacock is streaming all 104 matches live through Telemundo’s coverage. Peacock Premium and Premium Plus subscribers can also access replays, a dedicated World Cup hub, interactive match schedules, highlights, and other viewing features.

An over-the-air antenna is the least expensive way to watch matches on your local FOX station. It will not receive FS1, which is a cable and streaming channel. The important bit for the knockout stage is that every match from the Round of 16 onward, beginning July 4, will air on FOX. That means an antenna will be enough for the final two weeks of the tournament, provided you can receive your local FOX affiliate reliably.

How to Watch the World Cup in English

FOX and FS1

Beginning with the Round of 16 on July 4, however, every remaining match will air on FOX.

That means cable and satellite subscribers should confirm that their package includes both FOX and FS1 for the current round. Those using a live TV streaming service should do the same, especially if they live in a market where the service does not carry the local FOX affiliate.

FOX One and the FOX Sports App

FOX One is FOX’s direct-to-consumer streaming service and the simplest English-language option for viewers without cable or satellite. It streams every 2026 World Cup match live and on demand, including games airing on both FOX and FS1. FOX One also includes features such as multiview, live stats, key plays, and 4K access for World Cup matches on compatible devices and connections.

The FOX Sports app also carries World Cup coverage, but it works differently. The app is free to download; live streams generally require viewers to sign in with an eligible TV-provider account. In other words, it is useful for cable, satellite, and qualifying live-TV streaming subscribers, but it is not a substitute for FOX One if you have cut the cord.

How to Watch the World Cup in Spanish

Peacock and Telemundo

Peacock is streaming Telemundo’s Spanish-language coverage of every World Cup match. That is the most important detail to understand: Peacock is not simply another English-language alternative to FOX One. It is the complete Spanish-language streaming home of the tournament.

Peacock has put some effort into making this more than a basic match stream. Its World Cup hub includes live matches, replays, schedules, group and country pages, highlights, multiview options on selected days, and a mobile-focused viewing feature called Visión de Campo for selected matches.

For viewers who prefer Spanish commentary, Peacock may be the best all-around package. For viewers who only want English commentary, FOX, FS1, FOX One, or a compatible live TV service remain the correct choices.

Can You Watch the World Cup With an Antenna?

Yes, but with one large caveat.

An antenna can receive your local FOX station for free, assuming you are close enough to the broadcast signal and your setup is working properly. It cannot receive FS1. That makes an antenna useful for most Round of 16 matches on FOX, but not those assigned to FS1.

Beginning July 4, the situation improves considerably. Every match from the Round of 16 through the July 19 final will air on FOX. For those remaining matches, a properly placed indoor or outdoor antenna may be all you need.

Before kickoff, rescan your television or tuner for channels. If your local FOX signal is unreliable, move the antenna higher, closer to a window, or away from large metal objects and Wi-Fi gear. This is not glamorous technology, but neither is paying $90 a month to watch a local station you could receive for free.

Is the World Cup Available in 4K, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos?

Yes, with some practical caveats.

FOX says every World Cup match is available in 4K through FOX One and most major pay TV providers. The picture quality depends on the provider, device, app, television, and connection. Owning a 4K television alone does not guarantee that the stream will automatically arrive in 4K.

Peacock says its World Cup presentation includes 4K, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos, marking the first live sports presentation to combine those formats. Compatible equipment is still required, so check your specific television, streamer, soundbar, or AVR before assuming every feature will appear automatically.

Best TV Settings for Watching Soccer

There is no universal “best” picture mode for every television, but a few adjustments will improve the experience on almost any modern TV.

First, turn off Eco Mode, Energy Saving, or aggressive automatic brightness controls. Soccer is played in bright outdoor stadiums, and your television should not decide that the match needs to look dim because it is trying to save the planet one nit at a time.

For a dark or reasonably controlled room, begin with Movie, Cinema, Filmmaker Mode, or a similar accurate picture preset. In a brighter living room, try Cinema Home, Standard, or the television’s brighter movie-oriented setting. Avoid Vivid or Dynamic mode unless you enjoy grass that looks chemically enhanced and players who appear to have spent the morning inside a tanning booth.

Keep sharpness low. Excessive sharpness creates white outlines around players and makes compression artifacts more obvious during fast camera pans.

For motion settings, start with interpolation turned off. Soccer broadcasts are already delivered with enough motion information to look smooth on a good TV. If the ball or fast side-to-side camera movement appears blurry, add only a low amount of motion processing. Too much will create strange artifacts around players and make the match look less like live sport than a very expensive soap opera.

Set the color temperature to Warm 1, Warm 2, or the closest equivalent. It may look slightly yellow for a few minutes if you are used to Cool mode, but it is generally more accurate and less harsh over a long match.

Finally, deal with room reflections before chasing picture controls. Closing blinds or shifting a lamp can make a larger improvement than fifteen minutes of menu diving through a TV interface designed by people who clearly hate joy.

Best Sound Settings for World Cup Matches

A soundbar or AVR connected through HDMI eARC is the simplest way to improve commentary clarity and stadium atmosphere. Start with the regular sound mode or Auto mode, rather than Stadium, Arena, or other presets that can make the commentators sound as though they are calling the match from inside a drainage pipe.

If you use a soundbar, keep dialogue enhancement low to moderate. You want the commentary clear, but not so boosted that every sentence from the booth arrives with the force of a public service announcement.

Peacock’s Dolby Atmos presentation can add a greater sense of crowd ambience on compatible equipment, but do not expect a basic TV speaker system to suddenly recreate a packed stadium. For that, you will need more than a menu setting and optimism.
