Vuzix Announces the Video iWear AV920-C, the First Personal Video Eyewear Designed for Game Consoles

The AV920-C will connect to Xbox360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and others to provide an immersive experience and a 62 inch viewing screen for single & multiplayer video games.

Rochester, NY — January 2nd — Vuzix Corporation is excited to announce their latest innovation to the Video Eyewear market: the iWear AV920-C. The recently released AV920, with its 62-inch virtual screen and twin 640 x 480 high resolution LCD displays, brings video content to life for all electronic devices with video-out connections. The AV920-C accomplishes all of the above, with the added ability to enable a unique single and multiplayer experience with video game consoles.

“The AV920-C adds a new dimension to multiplayer games. Instead of viewing all four players on the one screen, the AV920-C allows users to select their half or quadrant of the display screen and view it blown on their own personal 62 inch screen. With the ability to daisy chain the AV920-C’s together, up to four players can game without distraction or fear that an opponent can view their screen. This will change how local or in-home multiplayer games are played,” said Vuzix CEO Paul Travers.

Vuzix is also making this upgrade available to current AV920 owners in the form of an AV920 Console Kit. This kit will include all the hardware and firmware necessary to turn an AV920 into the AV920-C.

“We want to provide value to our customers. We believe that offering the upgrade versus only making the console capabilities to new purchases was the right thing to do,” said National Sales Manager Mike Hallett.
