Tripp Lite Expands Enterprise-Level KVM Switch Offering with
New 16-Port, 2-User Matrix KVM Switch
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chicago, IL (October 29, 2007)–Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity equipment, has expanded its popular KVM Switch line by introducing a NetDirector 16-Port, 2-User Matrix 1U Rackmount KVM Switch (model: B060-016-2) designed to control and monitor over 2,000 PCs or servers.
Tripp Lite’s 16-Port Matrix KVM Switch is ideal for simultaneously controlling multiple computers by up to two independent users. Console Interface Modules (models: B062-001-USB, B062-002-PS2) and Server Interface Modules (models: B054-001-USB, B054-001-PS2, B054-001-SUN) are available to connect the KVM Switch to each user’s console (keyboard, monitor and mouse) as well as to each connected server. The Interface Modules can be placed up to 500 feet away from the KVM Switch using Category 5e patch cables. Tripp Lite’s new 16-Port Matrix KVM Switch is PS/2, USB & Sun compatible. At least one Console Interface Module is required to operate the B060-016-2 KVM Switch.
“Our new 16-Port Matrix KVM Switch is the most economical solution available for controlling a vast number of computers connected within a large network,” stated David Posner, Tripp Lite Director of Product Marketing for Connectivity Products. “Inexpensive Cat5 cabling can be used for convenient, long-distance access up to 500 feet away. With the combination of premium features and world-class support, IT professionals will find our 16-Port Matrix KVM Switch very convenient and useful throughout their business day.”
The 16-Port KVM Switch can control up to 16 directly connected computers — or over 2,000 computers when additional models are daisy-chained. Occupying only 1U of rack space, the 16-Port KVM Switch fits in any standard 19 in. rack enclosure. The 16-Port KVM Switch and Interface Modules are compatible with all major operating systems, and support most keyboards and mice. A three-level password security feature accommodates a super administrator, administrator and multiple users. In addition, the KVM switch provides superior video quality of up to 1024 x 768 pixels at 500 feet and 1920 x 1440 pixels at normal cable distances.
Plug-and-play setup requires no software, and hot-pluggable capability allows addition or removal of computers without powering down the KVM Switch or other computers. Preprogrammed hot keys and On-Screen Display (OSD) menus simplify port selection. Easily upgrade firmware with a flash-upgradeable firmware port.
