THIEL CS3.7 & SCS4 featured in live sound demo: CEDIA room SR16

(Lexington, KY) Pre-CEDIA, 2007 — U.S. loudspeaker manufacturer, THIEL Loudspeakers (www.thielaudio.com) will be featuring the floor-standing CS3.7 (now in production and shipping to dealers) as well as the soon-to-be released bookshelf-sized SCS4 and THIEL’s SS1 subwoofers in a live multi-channel music system being demonstrated at this year’s CEDIA Expo, Sept. 6th-9th, 2007, in Denver, CO.

The CS3.7, named as a CES Innovations Design & Engineering Award Winner for 2007 and Product of the Year by EH Publishing, is THIEL’s finest loudspeaker ever. Product designer Jim Thiel says that the CS3.7 represents “the most significant product introduction from THIEL in at least ten years” and showcases the latest and greatest of his design innovations.

Unusual cabinet construction using curved sides, an aluminum dome and baffle as well as the CS3.7’s radical and unique driver technology are at the heart of this exciting new product from THIEL. The new driver design allows both the CS3.7 midrange and tweeter to operate as near-perfect pistons and deliver pure, distortion free sound that provides the listener with an experience approaching the excitement of a live musical performance. The CS3.7 has a suggested retail price of $9900 per pair.

The SCS4 is 17.5″ tall and 8.5″ wide–it has been designed as a versatile, two-way, bookshelf-sized speaker system uniquely suited for outstanding front, rear, or center channel use regardless of listener position or speaker location. The SCS4’s high output capability perfectly meet the demands of today’s home theater systems, and its innovative, advanced driver design provides an extremely realistic sonic experience. “The SCS4’s high efficiency, magnetic shielding, narrow shape, and very accurate reproduction make it perfect for use as a high performance center or rear channel speaker in home theater and multi-channel systems, ” says company president Kathy Gornik. “However, the SCS4 is a remarkable all-purpose, full-range speaker as comfortable in demanding music systems as it is reproducing movie soundtracks. And we are able to offer it at a much more affordable price than previous THIEL models.” The THIEL SCS4 has an MSRP of $990 each and will be shipping soon.

The SS1 Subwoofer utilizes a 500 watt amplifier and a single long-throw 10″ woofer in a compact 20″ H x 11″W x 15.5 “D, 55 pound cabinet with an output of up to 99dB of output at 20 Hz and up to 106 dB at 30 Hz, an exceptional amount of output for a subwoofer its size. The SS1 is currently shipping and has an MSRP of $2900 each.
