Soundmatters SLIMstage40 Ultra Slim Audiophile Powered Surround Bar

Soundmatters’ SLIMstage40, with “Pinpoint” Surround Imaging and Resonant Bass from a Console Measuring Only 3.5″ Tall — Now Shipping.

The industry’s first high-performance, low-profile all-one-surround speaker/amplifier/processor console, SLIMstage40™ is now available to consumers who demand an engaging 5.1 surround experience without complicated a/v receivers and unsightly speakers.

SLIMstage40, by soundmatters, inc., features 170 Watts from eight internal amplifiers, yet it measures a scant 3.3″ (H) x 3.4″ (D) x 39″ (W). SLIMstage is slimmer than most wall-mounted plasma and LCD TV’s, and at only 3.5″ tall — provides a less conspicuous surround sound alternative to traditional oversized surround bars. Demonstrable benefits over other single-box surround consoles, include convincing, detailed surround sound from both stereo and 5.1 signals without reflecting walls, and real, articulate bass — making an external subwoofer an option, not a requirement.

Comments Marketing VP Lee Adams, “Most single-cabinet surround systems typically require reflective walls to optimize a sonic image, but with SLIMstage, we’ve effectively removed this barrier by incorporating patented surround and speaker technologies that don’t rely on walls or subwoofers to produce a pinpoint surround-sound image. And our patented technologies have allowed us to develop a super-slim cabinet which unlike others has bass, and nearly disappears on furniture or under a flat-panel TV.”

SLIMstage40 features four Linear Magnetic Drive™ main/satellite speakers in its compact console, along with 170-watts of class-D amplification. Bass extension is achieved without an external subwoofer by way of nine bass drivers, including three down-firing Extreme-EnergyTM subs assisted by six mass radiators, with reproduction down to 45Hz.

Euphony™HD: An Epiphany for the Listener
Developed exclusively for SLIMstage through a joint effort initiated by Dr. Hareo Hamada, president of DiMAGIC, Inc. and soundmatters’ founder Dr. Godehard Guenther, EuphonyHD is a virtual surround technology that produces a well-developed virtual 5.1-channel virtual surround soundstage with a clear center channel image. From a single cabinet, EuphonyHD not only faithfully recreates DolbyDigital and DTS imaging, but it creates a realistic 5.1 soundfield from 2-channel signals as well.

Along with its 13 speaker driver array are several convenience features, including three digital audio inputs (two optical, one coax), three analog inputs (two on the rear panel plus one front iPod input), as well as a virtual surround headphone output jack.

Additional features include a high-contrast LED backlit panel graphics display for easy viewing across a room, a user-friendly IR remote, front panel controls, RS-232 port, and both “easy tilt” shelf feet and a wall bracket.

soundmatters international’s SLIMstage40 is available now at a suggested retail price of $899… $1199 when optionally “bundled” with the award-winning SUBstage100 subwoofer. SLIMstage and all soundmatters products will be on display at the CEDIA EXPO, Denver, CO, Sept. 4-7, Booth #SR-8.

soundmatters international, inc. (www.soundmatters.com), founded in 1998 by physicist, former NASA engineer, and audio design legend Dr. Godehard Guenther, is dedicated to developing exceptional performance audio products that enhance, rather than complicate consumers’ lifestyles.
