ThinLine Models, Ceiling Subwoofer, New Single-Stereo All Join Range

San Clemente, CA–September 2008–Sonance has added several new models to its groundbreaking Sonance Architectural Series products while also announcing three important installation advances applied across the line. With the new models, the Architectural Series strengthens the company’s position in offering the broadest, most coherent range of design solutions for any installation, from the simplest to the most demanding. Like all Architectural Series products, the latest additions feature unique, truly flush-mount installation making them a designer’s dream.

The new models begin with the X6R SST, a “single-stereo” design ideal for hallways, small rooms, alcoves, and bathrooms. The X6R SST combines the powerful bass of a 6.5-inch woofer with dual mid/high-frequency sections to create surprisingly full, spacious stereo sound from a single speaker.

Next up is a trio of Architectural Series ThinLine models, engineered for the shallow-depth installations commonly required in Europe and many high-rise projects. A two-way speaker is available in three variants to meet designer or customer needs and preferences: the X6R TL (round); X6S TL (square), and X6 TL (rectangle), all use audiophile-quality carbon-fiber woofers and extended-response silk-dome tweeters. The new ThinLine speakers share the Architectural Series’ truly flush installation, and a choice of flangeless micro-flange, micro-perforated metal, or fine-cloth finish components, to yield an unequalled range of design elegance and installation options.

BPS-1 Bandpass Subwoofer
Completing the new-model introduction is the new BPS-1, an innovative bandpass subwoofer technology subwoofer uniquely engineered for in-ceiling installations. The ultimate in invisible space efficiency, the BPS-1 delivers unexpected low-bass extension and dynamic power through minimally intrusive finish components that complement today’s luxury light fixtures and wall art.

New Architectural Series Universal Bracket
Sonance has also announced two important refinements that dramatically increase the flexibility and aesthetics of all Architectural Series speakers by providing greater mounting options regardless of finish thickness or substrate material with all new Precision Fit Finish Components. The Architectural Series Universal Bracket features a telescoping adjustable-depth, mechanism that allows the award- winning line of Architectural Series speakers to be mounted perfectly flush with any wall or ceiling regardless of finish material (plaster, wood, stone, tile, etc). The
innovative “lock-and-release” system allows installation technicians to adjust the platform up to 1.5-inches (38 mm). Refined Precision Fit Finish Components eliminate any variation between the surface and the edge of the finish component. The Architectural Series Universal Bracket is available in eight different shapes and sizes.

Sonance has also announced the debut of a 1/2-inch version of the popular Gypsum Panel Bracket. This mounting platform provides the easiest and fastest method of guaranteeing an entirely flush, trimless speaker installation in any new drywall environment. The 1.2-inch Gypsum Panel Bracket will also feature the new Precision Fit Finish Components.
