Russounds old favorite becomes a new original

New controller amplifiers for multiroom audio are redesigned from the ground up

NEWMARKET, N.H., Sept. 6, 2005 — Expanding its line of award-winning controller-amplifiers, Russound unveiled today its all-new CAA66 and CAS44 multiroom audio distribution products. With features not typically found in competitive models at this price point, these controllers offer a niche all their own. Both controllers share many of the same features: adjustable bass, treble, balance and volume from the keypads, installer adjusted loudness control, RS232 port for interface to control systems, multiple keypad support in a single zone, as well as an “all off” command. Although the CAA and CAS cannot be combined for a 10-zone system, the combination of value and performance make either the CAA66 or CAS44 a perfect fit for any multiroom application. Both controller/amplifiers will be available in September.

Russound’s CAA66 and CAS44 kits ship with remote controls and elegant keypads (available in three styles) for home audio one-touch control. From each keypad, the user can adjust bass, treble, balance and volume. For homeowners who want to extend the benefits of their Apple iPod, Russound makes it easy to connect an iPod to the CAA66 and CAS44 for sharing and enjoying music collections throughout the home.

CAA66 redefines multiroom audio
The CAA66 caters to homeowners who want more. Six sources delivered to any of six zones with multiple keypads per zone, and expandability up to 36 zones offer versatility for any home or budget. The US Domestic MAP for the CAA66 controller is $1,599; kits with six keypads range from $2,199 to $2,599 MAP. Key features include:

-six sources inputs for sharing music throughout the home;
-simplified programming and control via IR library and intelligent IR learning capabilities for quick setup;
-bass, treble, balance and volume adjustability from any keypad; and
-RS232 port for compatibility with home control systems.

CAS44 lowers the barrier to entry
The CAS44 delivers full-featured multiroom/multisource, high-fidelity audio at an entry-level price. The US Domestic MAP for the CAS44 controller is $999; kits with 4 keypads range from $1,599 to $1,999 MAP. Key features include:

-four sources delivered to any one of four zones for sharing music throughout the home;
-scalable to eight zones by connecting two CAA44s for extended zone coverage;
-lower price to ease homeowner entry into multiroom market;
-user adjustable bass, treble, balance and volume from any keypad; and
-CAS-RC dedicated remote control featuring a comprehensive IR device code library for simple multiroom control.

“Russound’s controller-amplifiers have been popular among homeowners who have wanted to experience true audio fidelity throughout the home,” said Russound Product Manager, Andy Lewis. “The CAA66 and CAS44 extend Russound controllers’ benefits so customers have more home audio choices at a more affordable price.”
