RTI Announces Inclusion of ECB-5 IR Emitter Connecting Block with all RP-1 Remote Control Processor Purchases

New IR Emitter-Connecting Block Allows for Connection of Up to Five Single or Dual IR Emitters

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — September 14, 2006 — Remote Technologies, Inc., the industry leader in home electronics control systems, announced today that all RP-1 Remote Control Processor purchases will come equipped with the ECB-5 IR Emitter Connecting Block for free. Also sold separately, the ECB-5 provides expanded infrared signal distribution when used with RTI processors, in-wall touchpanels, the CB-4 Connecting Block, and third party infrared repeater systems.

The ECB-5 features one infrared signal input and five emitter output ports that allow the connection of up to five single or dual infrared emitters. It also incorporates a sense input for monitoring the power status of a switched outlet, current sensor, or light sensor.

“We wanted to package the ECB-5 with the RP-1 to make it more convenient for our dealers to install a completed RTI control system,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “The RP-1 helps to automate the operation of audio/video systems and when combined with the ECB-5, IR distribution is easy, providing greater control options to homeowners.”
