Power Group, LTD Reaches New Heights with Highland Guitar Company and Elixir Strings

Toronto, Canada, December 20, 2007 — Power Group, LTD, a Canadian-based distributor of quality musical instruments and professional audio products, will kick off the New Year by rolling out The Highland Guitar Company and outfitting its electric and acoustic guitars with Elixir Strings, pioneer of long-life strings.

The Power Group has been an exclusive Canadian distributor of Elixir Strings for the past six years. Power Group CEO Ron Larcombe says that furnishing Highland acoustic and electric guitars with Elixir Strings was an obvious choice. “The Highland Guitar Company was established to provide musicians with a high-end guitar line that offers great value at a reasonable price,” explains Larcombe. “Since Elixir Strings is the premium grade string and leader in the guitar string market, having them featured on the Highland acoustic and electric guitars helps support our mission, adding real value to both dealers and customers. We could not imagine selling these instruments with any other string brand.”

Highland acoustic and electric guitars are well-crafted in exotic hardwoods and deliver exceptional sound and playability. Their use of Grover tuning gears and Fishman pre-amps elevate the acoustic guitars above anything in their price range and their archtop electrics are equally as distinguished. The MSRP price range for Highland acoustics is $300 to $500. The electric guitar line is priced between $500 and $1,250.

About Elixir Strings
Elixir Strings is the pioneer in coated string technology and is available in two string ‘flavors.’ Ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating provides the bright tone and punch of uncoated strings, yet keeps their lively tone three to five times longer than ordinary strings. The thin coating is nearly undetectable — providing the feel of traditional strings. Elixir Strings with original POLYWEB Coating also sound great three to five times longer than ordinary strings, have a balanced tone with smooth response, feel comfortably smooth, and reduce finger squeak. Elixir Strings are available in a full range of gauges for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, banjo, and mandolin. Today, Elixir Strings are installed as original equipment by a growing list of discriminating electric guitar and bass manufacturers including Ibanez, Tom Anderson Guitarworks, Brian Moore Guitars, Carvin, Melancon Guitars as well as premium acoustic guitar luthiers such as Taylor Guitars, Santa Cruz Guitar Company, Alvarez-Yairi, Lakewood Guitars, RainSong Graphite Guitars, Carvin, and Goodall Guitars. Elixir Strings are endorsed by popular artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Train, Dave Mason, Michael W. Smith, Jim Messina, Christopher Cross, Bob Seger, and Drowning Pool.

Elixir Strings are manufactured by W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc., the company widely known for such innovations as GORE-TEX fabrics. For more information, please visit www.elixirstrings.com.
