Pinnacle Systems Brings the Fun of Creating, Sharing Halloween Videos and Photos to First-Timers with Free VideoSpin Software

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., October 10, 2008 — Pinnacle Systems, Inc., a part of Avid Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVID), today highlighted how busy consumers can put more fun in Halloween with a free download of its VideoSpin by Pinnacle video editing software. Using the software, even people who have never edited a movie before can create, email and upload high-quality videos to popular websites such as YouTube. Rated best choice of the “free” video-editing programs*, VideoSpin has more than half-a-million existing users.

VideoSpin provides a fast, easy way to share videos and photo albums of special Halloween memories such as a child’s first Halloween, a pet’s costume, making popcorn balls, or helping children put on their costumes and make-up. The results can be fun to share and become keepsakes for years to come.

With VideoSpin, users can mix video with their own photo, music and audio files to create totally unique movies. Video can be imported from the user’s PC or other mass storage devices such as an external drive or a digital camera’s flash memory card.

The movie-making process begins by dragging and dropping video scenes onto the timeline. After viewing the results, users can quickly and accurately resize clips using the convenient razorblade features.

From the timeline page, users can easily move from adding video clips to enhancing their projects with titles, transitions, sound and music by simply clicking the corresponding button.

The VideoSpin Title Generator includes 18 templates that can be customized to change the text, font size and colors. With VideoSpin, scrolling titles can also be created–a feature that is usually only available in high-end video editing programs.

By clicking on the Transition Button, users can select from more than seventy different types of transitions, including a fade, dissolve, wipe or slide and then drag and drop them between two images on the timeline. Transitions can also be easily resized to extend the viewing time of the effect.

Videos can be further enhanced with a variety of stock sound effects that are included such as animal noises, crowd sounds and vehicles.

After previewing the completed video, users can select the “Make Movie” Button to have the application render the video in the most common video formats, or upload it directly to YouTube. VideoSpin users can also email Pinnacle Systems to submit new YouTube entries they would like to see spotlighted on the VideoSpin.com website.

Recently redesigned, the VideoSpin.com website also features tutorials, tips and fun features. Site visitors can experience first-hand how easy editing and sharing can be by clicking on the website’s interactive, step-by-step tutorials.
