Onkyo has introduced the compact CS-315 CD Receiver System, an attractive executive mini-system that delivers outstanding sound in a wide range of living environments. Perfect for those seeking a high-quality, inexpensive audio system loaded with great features, the CS-315 performs equally well on a packed bookshelf or a wide open countertop, making it the ideal complete system for homes, offices, summerhouses, or dorm rooms.

The CS-315’s CD player, which can play CDs, CD-R/RWs, and MP3 CDs, uses a single bit D/A converter and incorporates proprietary Onkyo technology like WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) and Optimum Gain Volume Control. For user convenience, it includes program, random, and repeat-play modes. The digital synthesis AM/FM tuner provides excellent reception and sound quality, as well as 30 preset memories to speed access to favorite stations. Finally, upgraded compatibility with Onkyo’s optional DS-A1 or DS-A2 iPod docks allows effortless integration of an iPod into the system.

Acoustic power is provided by two discrete component WRAT power amplifiers that are perfectly matched to the included 2-way bass reflex loudspeakers. These speakers, which are magnetically shielded for use near TV and video screens, employ a 1-3/16 inch ring drive tweeter, a 5-1/8 inch A-OMF (Onkyo Advanced Micro Fiber) diaphragm woofer, and Aero Acoustic Drive for powerful and natural sound.

Other features of the CS-315 include a full-function remote control, a headphone jack, and built-in clock and sleep timer functions. It offers three audio inputs, one audio output and subwoofer preout to allow users to expand the system to suit their tastes.

The Onkyo CS-315 CD receiver is now available at a suggested retail price of $299.

Onkyo, which takes its name from the Japanese “On” meaning ‘sound’ and “Kyo” meaning ‘harmony,’ has been producing precision audio components for over a half-century.
