Lawrence, Kansas, November 1, 2005– MartinLogan, the Loudspeaker Technology Company, announced today the introduction of the new Vantage loudspeaker, representing an unprecedented direction for high-end audiophile loudspeaker design. The result of years of research, the new Vantage powered hybrid electrostatic loudspeaker features advanced technological developments, dramatically reducing cabinet size and establishing new standards for efficiency, dynamics and precision in a floor-standing loudspeaker.

Vantage’s Features Include:
XStat Electrostatic Transducer featuring:
–Ultra-Rigid AirFrame Technology
–Advanced Vacuum Bonding
–MicroPerf Stators
–ClearSpar technology
–CLS (Curvilinear Line Source)
High-Resolution PoweredForce Woofer
35 Hz Level Control
Ultimate Crossover Engineering

Living in the shadow of the impressive Summit speaker is no easy task. Vantage rises to the challenge by compressing Summit’s groundbreaking ultra high-resolution XStat, AirFrame and PoweredForce technologies into a surprisingly compact package and price.

PoweredForce Bass–Low-End Authority, Compact Form

Shockingly powerful and accurate bass results from Vantage’s concurrently designed PoweredForce 8-inch aluminum cone woofer, 200-watt high-resolution amplifier, and precision acoustic control cabinet design. The result? Usable bass extension down to 34Hz, immense bass dynamics and precision beyond the reach of traditional passive box systems–all from an enclosure not much larger than a case of wine! Additionally, the simple turn of a 35Hz equalization knob allows precision low-end calibration to optimize speaker/room integration.

XStat Transducer and Ultra Rigid AirFrame Enhance Electrostatic Purity

Revealing every subtle nuance of recorded sound with unflinching accuracy, Vantage’s ultra rigid AirFrame and curvilinear XStat electrostatic transducer reveal a magical performance and set new listening standards for precision, dynamics and three-dimensional sound staging–all from an extremely compact stat panel.

Housed within a radical, ultra-rigid, extruded aluminum and composite AirFrame, Vantage’s new CLS (Curvilinear Line Source) XStat transducer builds upon the legacy of MartinLogan’s electrostatic heritage with advanced Vacuum Bonding and MicroPerf stat panels providing even greater efficiency and precision. The integration of exotic toroidal transformer engineering and an electrical interface technology developed by MartinLogan’s Statement e2 engineering team extends effortless dynamics and purity resulting in even higher sonic standards of efficiency and precision.

MicroPerf stator technology, featured in Vantage’s XStat transducer, reveals more open playable area in each panel. The Vantage loudspeaker boasts an XStat electrostatic transducer with a playable area equal to that of a traditional electrostatic transducer nearly twice its size.

Further enhancing efficiency and dynamics as well as MartinLogan’s trademark transparency, rigid ClearSpars spacers (originally engineered for the cost-no-object Statement e2) allow XStat transducers to maintain an extremely uniform tension of the diaphragm during critical panel construction processes, permitting critical stator and diaphragm spacing within an exact tolerance.

Ultimate Crossover–Ultimate Clarity

Featuring an advanced proprietary Vojtko crossover topology derived from the Statement e2 loudspeaker, MartinLogan electronic specialists hand-build each Vantage crossover utilizing only the finest of components and construction techniques to assure the cleanest, most precise signal path possible. The resulting precision crossover flawlessly preserves microscopic subtleties while effortlessly handling the broadest range of dynamics contained within even the most demanding sonic source.

Myriad Finish Options

Vantage features a variety of real wood veneers with multiple layers of hand-rubbed lacquer.

Toolless Binding Posts Simplify Connections

The Vantage is supplied with bi-wire, high-resolution, proprietary toolless binding posts for effortless cable attachment and management.

Energy Transfer Coupler (ETC) Spikes Maximize Low Frequency Performance

To further enhance Vantage’s performance, sturdy ETC spikes are provided for tighter, better defined bass, cleaner micro dynamic resolution, and improved imaging and focus.
