Four New Networked A/V Receivers and Two New Preamplifier/Processors Engineered for Custom Installers and Systems Integrators

Integra unveiled its new lineup of home theater receivers and preamplifier/processors at the 2009 CEDIA Expo. The four new network-capable A/V receivers and two preamplifier/processors include Integra’s first 9.2-channel audio systems for the ultimate in home theater sound or expanded multi-room capabilities for custom installers and systems integrators.

These THX certified systems include Audyssey DSX and Dolby ProLogic IIz soundstage expansion technologies, ISF certified calibration controls, and up to eight HDMI 1.3a inputs for maximum video connectivity. All six models have advanced networking capabilities for streaming content from Pandora, Rhapsody, vTuner, and Sirius Internet Radio services. All these models are compatible with Windows 7 and are certified with DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) version 1.5, ensuring optimal compatibility with other network-enabled equipment throughout the home. Finally, all models but the DTR-40.1 receiver also include USB connectivity, further increasing the streaming audio options from either personal computers or USB-enabled portable devices.

“Ten years ago Integra came to CEDIA with the first AV receivers specifically designed for custom installers and systems integrators,” said Keith Haas, Director of Sales. “These professionals needed products that could be easily integrated with home automation systems and multiple zones, while offering their customers home theater performance that was second to none. We committed ourselves to provide such solutions, and each year since we have delivered products tailored to the needs of the channel without compromise. This year, we are continuing down this same path with 9.2 channel enhanced-ambience audio, expanded connectivity, advanced networking, installer audio and video calibration capabilities, and so much more. These are features that have been designed as much by our customers as for our customers…features that make it ‘the’ brand to own and install.”

Integra’s top-of-the-line DHC-80.1 preamp/processor and top two DTR-80.1 and DTR-70.1 A/V receivers have 9.2-channel audio capabilities for the expanded soundstage reproduction of the new Audyssey DSX and Dolby ProLogic IIz processor formats. The Dolby system generates two front ‘height’ channels, while Audyssey’s format generates either two front ‘height’ or ‘stereo-wide’ channels. Both receivers have nine powerful built-in amplifier sections, with as much as 145 Watts per channel, and the option to bridge two channels, doubling power to the main front speakers.

All of the new receivers and preamp/processors, save the DTR-40.1, also include ISFccc certified calibration capability, which allows ISF Certified video calibration technicians to custom define both day and night settings for each individual video source component connected to them. Each input also includes a third custom calibration memory that can be accessed by consumers to adjust video output to their specific tastes. Finally, each of these models also feature dual HDMI outputs that can be individually calibrated, and either independently or simultaneously active.

Video processing on all models includes upscaling of all video inputs to 1080p. On the DHC-80.1, DTR-80.1 and DTR-70.1, these duties are handled by a top-grade HQV Reon-VX chipset. The more affordable DHC-40.1, DTR-50.1, and DTR-40.1 use Faroudja DCDi Cinema processing. These receivers have a large complement of HDMI inputs, ranging from six on the DTR-40.1 up to eight on the top-of-the-line DHC-80.1 and DTR-80.1, including one HDMI input on each front panel. All models have connections for a wide variety of legacy video and audio sources, including phono inputs on all models. The DHC-80.1 and DTR-80.1 also include a computer VGA video input for use with PC home theater systems.

Like all Integra products, they include many features engineered specifically for custom installation professionals and systems integrators, such as bidirectional Ethernet and RS-232 control, and advanced multizone capabilities. Receiver amplifiers can be retasked to power stereo speakers in a second, third, or even fourth zone, and there are Zone 2/3 subwoofer outputs. Many models include component video output for Zone 2, as well as power-on and max-volume settings for additional zones. All models include selectable 12-volt triggers with adjustable delay, IR inputs and outputs, and PC-based setup via RS-232 or the Ethernet with lockable storage and recall of independent dealer settings to streamline setup and troubleshooting of systems in the field. Finally, three of the new models (the DHC-80.1, DTR-80.1 and DTR-70.1) include Audyssey MultEQ Pro compatibility, giving professional sound calibrators the most powerful setup tools available.

The DTR-50.1 and DTR-40.1 AV receivers as well as the DHC-40.1 preamplifier/processor are all currently shipping with suggested retail prices of $1,400, $1,000 and $1,200 each, respectively. The DTR-80.1 and DTR-70.1 AV Receivers, and the DHC-80.1 preamplifier/processor will be available in October with suggested retail prices $2800, $2000, and $2,300 each, respectively.
