WOODBURY, NY — At CEDIA 2004, Infinity Systems is displaying a wide variety of advanced-technology, high-performance loudspeaker systems and custom-installation product solutions at the Indianapolis Convention Center, Booth 342 (September 10 — 12). The exhibit, presented in an open, inviting gallery-type setting, features the debut of Infinity’s flagship TSS-4000 Total Solutions system, a strikingly designed, complete home theater loudspeaker package that perfectly complements LCD and plasma displays.

In addition, the company is introducing its CS Series in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeakers, which bring renowned Infinity sound quality to popular price points. The company is also adding to its ERS Series in-wall lineup with the introduction of the ERS HV250, a dual-woofer speaker that can be mounted either vertically or horizontally, facilitating its use in custom-installation home theater systems.

Eli Harary, Infinity vice president of sales and marketing, noted: “At CEDIA 2004, Infinity is demonstrating its commitment to the custom-installation market with an expanded range of innovative loudspeakers and system solutions, positioned to accommodate a greater variety of home entertainment, whole-house and architectural applications than ever before.” Harary continued, “Every Infinity product, from our elegant, distinctively styled Total Solutions systems and Beta Series loudspeakers to our comprehensive selection of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, is designed to perfectly integrate into the home environment, while offering exceptional sound quality and unmatched installation flexibility.”

TSS-4000: The Ultimate Total Solutions Home Theater System

Infinity is broadening its acclaimed Total Solutions lineup of home theater loudspeaker packages with the introduction of its flagship TSS-4000 system. The TSS-4000 offers exceptional sound quality and versatile installation options, and its striking, contemporary appearance is designed to complement LCD and plasma displays.

Infinity Total Solutions TSS-4000 models include the following:

SAT-4000 three-way satellite (four 3-1/2-inch Metal Matrix Diaphragm (MMD) woofers, dual 3-1/2-inch MMD midrange drivers and a 3/4-inch MMD tweeter); SRP: $549 each

CENTER-4000 three-way center channel loudspeaker (four 3-1/2-inch MMD woofers, dual 3-1/2-inch MMD midrange drivers and a 3/4-inch MMD tweeter); SRP: $549 each

SUB-4000 powered subwoofer (12-inch MMD woofer, built-in 400-watt amplifier), featuring Infinity’s proprietary Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System (R.A.B.O.S.); SRP: $1,249

Infinity’s TSS-4000 loudspeakers are engineered to deliver superlative sound — authoritative bass, a detailed, musically accurate midrange, extended high frequencies, and natural vocal and instrumental reproduction — in a wide range of 5.1-, 6.1- and 7.1-channel home entertainment installations.

All TSS-4000 drivers utilize Infinity’s exclusive MMD technology. MMD driver cones are manufactured by anodizing both sides of an aluminum core to a controlled thickness, producing low-mass, highly rigid driver diaphragms that operate with greatly reduced distortion, and provide extraordinary transient response, resolution and smoothness throughout their entire frequency range.

The satellites and center channel feature acoustically inert enclosures constructed of extruded and brushed aluminum. The enclosures provide significant sonic advantages while imparting a stylish appearance that is evocative of the company’s flagship Prelude MTS loudspeakers. The TSS-4000 subwoofer features Infinity’s exclusive Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System, which enables it to be precisely tuned to the listening room to obtain accurate bass response.

Available in a rich platinum finish with matching grilles, TSS-4000 loudspeakers offer unmatched installation flexibility. The magnetically shielded satellites and center channel are supplied with wall-mount swivel brackets that enable installation alongside a plasma or LCD display, and facilitate their use in a wide variety of custom-installation applications. The satellites are also supplied with shelf stands of three different heights, and the center channel loudspeaker comes with a mounting base. Optional floor stands are available for the satellites, and an optional flush-mount kit for the satellites and center channel loudspeaker enables them to be recessed into a wall for a clean, understated appearance.

The Infinity Total Solutions TSS-4000 loudspeaker system will begin shipping in November 2004.

The TSS-4000 joins the currently available TSS-450, TSS-750 and TSS-1100 systems (the TSS-1100 is showcased in Infinity’s CEDIA 2004 exhibit), to create a complete range of high-performance, high-value home theater loudspeaker solutions. The TSS-450, TSS-750 and TSS-1100 carry suggested retail prices of $449, $749 and $1,099, respectively.

Infinity CS Series: Outstanding Sound Quality and Versatile Installation Options

The Infinity exhibit will feature the premiere of Infinity’s high-value CS Series in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, five models that are ideal for a wide range of custom-installation, whole-house, designer and home entertainment applications. To better support its authorized dealers and systems integration specialists, Infinity will offer a special freight policy for all CS Series models in recognition of the channel’s unique business requirements.

Models in the Infinity CS Series include the following:

CS50 (1-inch tweeter, 5-1/4-inch woofer); SRP: $149/each

CS60R (1-inch tweeter, 6-1/2-inch woofer, round); SRP: $149/each

CS60 (1-inch tweeter, 6-1/2-inch woofer); SRP: $169/each

CS60RDT (dual 3/4-inch tweeters, 6-1/2-inch woofer, stereo audio capability, round); SRP: $179/each

CS80R (1-inch tweeter, 8-inch woofer, round); SRP: $179/each

Every CS Series speaker is designed to deliver clear, articulate sound over a wide listening area. All models employ metal-laminate-dome tweeters that provide outstanding high-frequency clarity, and are mounted in a pivoting housing that enables them to be aimed for best sound coverage in any installation.

Complementing the performance of the tweeters, CS Series speakers feature metal-laminate woofers that provide a richly detailed midrange with exceptionally natural vocal and instrumental reproduction, along with powerful low-frequency response.

The dual-tweeter CS60RDT delivers two-channel audio from a single-speaker configuration, making it ideal for limited-space applications where stereo sound is desired. The CS60RDT can be used to provide stereo audio in applications where two speakers cannot be accommodated, and can also be used as a surround-effects speaker in home theater systems to reproduce two separate surround-effects channels.

CS Series models are ideal for use as surround speakers in multichannel systems that include Infinity’s Beta Series or Primus Series loudspeakers; they create an expansive 360-degree sound field with a seamless sonic blend between the front and surround channels.

All CS Series speakers are designed for ease of installation, with built-in mounting tabs, and paintable baffles and grilles. Optional rough-in frames are available for preconstruction installation. The CS50 and CS60 have rectangular baffles; the CS60R’s, CS60RDT’s and CS80R’s are round.

Infinity ERS HV250: Ideal for Custom-Installation Home Theaters

Infinity is broadening its high-performance ERS Series in-wall and in-ceiling speaker lineup with the introduction of its ERS HV250, a versatile dual-woofer speaker that can be mounted either horizontally, for use as the center channel of a home theater system, or vertically, for use as left and right front and surround speakers. The ERS HV250, like all Infinity ERS Series speakers, utilizes the company’s exclusive Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD) driver technology for exceptional sound quality in a wide range of custom-installation applications. It can also be used as the surround speakers in a system based around Prelude MTS, Beta Series or Primus Series loudspeakers.

The ERS HV250’s 3/4-inch tweeter and dual 5-1/4-inch woofers both employ CMMD technology — the identical, patented driver technology used in the company’s flagship Prelude MTS models — to deliver
a level of sonic accuracy and musicality far beyond conventional in-wall speakers. The tweeter’s performance is maximized by a waveguide that is optimized for in-wall and in-ceiling use, and provides
a smooth frequency balance both on-and off-axis, along with dispersion over a broad listening area.

The Infinity ERS HV250 offers easy installation in both new homes and existing rooms. When mounted horizontally, it fits inside the standard 16-inch spacing that is used between most wall studs, with no cutting of the studs required. The ERS HV250 includes built-in mounting tabs, and its baffles and grilles can be painted to match any decor. Optional rough-in frames are available for preconstruction installation. In addition, the ERS HV250 features an IR cutout, enabling an IR repeater to be conveniently placed inside the speaker.

The Infinity ERS HV250 in-wall speaker will be available in January 2005 at a suggested retail price of $229 each.

Beta Series Loudspeakers: Combining Enhanced Performance, Design Elegance and Value

Infinity’s Beta Series loudspeakers incorporate the company’s latest-generation technologies, such as an improved CMMD tweeter and Constant Acoustic Impedance (CAI) high-frequency waveguide, to deliver superlative sound quality in a wide range of home entertainment installations. Complementing their exceptional performance, Beta Series loudspeakers have a refined visual appeal, with styling that blends classic and contemporary design elements to create a uniquely elegant look.

The Infinity CEDIA 2004 exhibit features the top-of-the-line Beta 50 floorstanding tower, along with the
Beta 20 bookshelf monitors, the Beta C360 center channel and the innovative Beta ES250 surround-
effects speaker, complemented by the extremely compact yet powerful CSW-10 subwoofer.

All Beta Series loudspeakers incorporate Infinity’s latest-generation CMMD tweeter, which extends the frequency response to beyond 40kHz, yielding remarkably clear, open and detailed high-frequency response even when reproducing demanding high-resolution program sources such as DVD-Audio and SACD. In addition, all the other Beta Series drivers utilize CMMD technology. Infinity Beta models are the first to feature Infinity’s patent-pending Constant Acoustic Impedance high-frequency waveguide, which utilizes a series of computer-designed, graduated curves that flare from the inside to the outside of the waveguide to provide improved on- and off-axis high-frequency dispersion and smoothness, along with better sensitivity and a more seamless blend with the woofers and midrange drivers.

The Beta ES250 surround loudspeaker features selectable monopole, dipole and bipole settings, enabling it to be configured for optimum surround reproduction in any 5.1-, 6.1- or 7.1-channel system. In addition, the Beta ES250 has the capability of functioning as two independent loudspeakers from one enclosure. When used in its dual-speaker configuration, a single Beta ES250 reproduces two discrete surround-effects channels, making it ideal for spaces where extra loudspeakers cannot be installed. CEDIA 2004 attendees can hear the Beta ES250 in its dual-speaker mode at the Infinity exhibit.

Models in the Infinity Beta Series include the following: Beta 10 2-way bookshelf, SRP: $165/each; Beta 20 2-way bookshelf, SRP: $199/each; Beta 40 3-way floorstanding, SRP: $399/each; Beta 50 3-way floorstanding, SRP: $499/each; Beta C250 2-way center channel speaker, SRP: $249/each; Beta C360 2-way center channel speaker, SRP: $399/each; Beta ES250 surround loudspeaker, SRP: $349/each.

Beta Series loudspeakers are available in black and cherry finishes with complementing grille colors, including black with black grilles, and cherry with platinum grilles; the ES250 is available in black or white pica finishes.

CSW-10 Subwoofer: The Perfect Match to the Beta Series

The CSW-10 (SRP: $999) is designed to perfectly complement Infinity’s Beta Series loudspeakers. The CSW-10, featuring a compact enclosure design, includes a 10-inch woofer, built-in 650-watt amplifier and the company’s exclusive Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System. It can be placed inconspicuously in any installation, while providing powerful and musically accurate low-frequency response. The CSW-10’s R.A.B.O.S. system enables it to be precisely tuned to any listening room by overcoming low-frequency room resonances that can detract from the sonic accuracy of a home entertainment loudspeaker system.
