Fall Focus Opening Session hosts 10 executives providing insight into digital media, services, and consumer demand

Dallas, TX October 13, 2005– Parks Associates, the leading analyst firm providing research and analysis on “digital living” technologies, announced today the participants for the Leadership Roundtable, the opening session at Fall Focus: Making Media Meaningful on November 10, 2005.

Fall Focus: Making Media Meaningful, a conference hosting 300+ marketing and strategy executives, will take place at the Fairmont San Jose on November 9-11. The Leadership Roundtable, entitled “Content on Consumer Terms,” will feature 10 key executives from the digital home industry discussing issues relevant to media personalization and meaningful content delivery. Tricia Parks, president of Parks Associates, and Kurt Scherf, vice president of research at Parks Associates, will moderate the session.

“The Roundtable offers Fall Focus attendees a unique learning experience through an interactive dialogue among executives representing a cross section of the digital value chain,” Tricia Parks said. “The participating executives represent companies building the new paradigms in content services, and the discussion will focus on the core business and market issues in bringing these advanced services to consumers.”

The Leadership Roundtable will also provide insight into the converging industries that provide digital products and solutions to consumers. Participants on the Roundtable include:

Jan-Luc Blakborn, Director of North America Digital Entertainment Category, Digital Entertainment Products, Hewlett-Packard Company
Beth Erez, Vice President, Strategic Alliances, NDS

Recent research from Parks Associates found that 42% of U.S. Internet households are not going out to the movies as often as they were five years ago and 28% report an increase in renting movies at home over that same period of time. This shift in entertainment habits is creating new opportunities for revenue growth for entertainment services and hardware and software products that target the residential environment.

Topics to be discussed on the Leadership Roundtable:
• Business models that combine mobile and fixed platforms
• Business plans for telcos and other competitive video players
• The role of digital rights management (DRM)
• Profit opportunities in the convergence of personal and commercial content
• Consumer preferences for digital content services & products
• Advertising in the era of personalized and on-demand content
• Key consumer segments in the adoption of today’s technology advancements
• Business models to engage the less tech-savvy
