Envive, Inc., today announced that it is now shipping the TheaterStation Multi-Zone Digital Media Management System with up to 14TB of Centralized Networked Storage. The expansion of the TheaterStation Digital Media Management System to support centralized storage of all your digital content enables consumers to store vast amounts of all forms of digital content. Consumers can now drag and drop their digital content into the TheaterStation Digital Media Management System and quickly enjoy their content through their TV, with a remote, and Envive’s Spin™ user interface. Users can import their music libraries or video files and TheaterStation will automatically retrieve cover art and metadata, which enables the content to be easily found and enjoyed. Envive’s Digital Media Management System enables users to easily transfer, store, sort, and enjoy music, home movies, films, and videos that they have created, or purchased and downloaded from the internet.
The TheaterStation Digital Media Management System uses a central networked storage unit, capable of up to 14TB of storage, to hold consumers’ digital content with RAID protection. Storage is available in rack mount units for larger installations, or quiet small tower units for cost sensitive applications. “We announced our Centralized Networked Storage strategy at CEDIA 2009 and dealers are excited to hear that shipments have begun,” said Chris Bortner, CEO of Envive. The TheaterStation Digital Media Management System can be expanded by adding hard drives for additional storage and by adding client units to enjoy media in other rooms of the home. The TheaterStation Digital Media Management System enables the user to retrieve, create, or capture cover art and metadata for all of the media in their library1.
Envive’s new software features help users get their digital library1 into the TheaterStation Digital Media Management System by using PC, MAC, and Linux based tools to drag and drop their digital files onto the central network storage device or TheaterStation server. TheaterStation supports the importing of non-DRM protected audio files from popular download services, and numerous video file formats including AVI, MPEG2, MPEG4, WMV, DVD ISO, VOB, H.264, and VC1. It has never been easier to import, organize, and enjoy digital media through a graphical user interface than with TheaterStation.
