ELAN Home Systems Announces Addition of THP801C and THP802C to Award-Winning TheaterPoint Family

Introduction of New Home Theater Speaker Offerings Provides Dealers with High Quality Entry- and Mid-Level In-Ceiling Speaker Options

Lexington, KY — ELAN Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award-winning Multi-Room audio/video and home control systems, announced today the addition of two new in-ceiling models to the company’s TheaterPoint (THP) line of home theater speakers, the THP801C and THP802C. Additionally, ELAN announced that the company has started shipping it’s highly anticipated THP650SS On-wall Surround Sound Dipole speaker. The announcements were made by Bob Farinelli, ELAN’s President and Chief Technology Officer.

In keeping with ELAN’s mission to provide Dealers with “good, better and best” options for their clients in nearly all of the company’s product categories, the new 801C and 802C now respectively represent the line’s entry- and mid-level models of in-ceiling home theater speakers. In conjunction with these product releases, the line’s premiere in-ceiling TheaterPoint model, the award-winning THP800C, has been renamed the THP803C, and is the top-of-the-line offering.

“Following on the phenomenal success of our THP800C in-ceiling speaker and in response to Dealer demand, we are introducing two new, class defined models that will provide our Dealers with greater options to satisfy their customers’ different needs,” stated Mr. Farinelli. “The THP800 line sets a new standard for sound quality and innovative design for in-ceiling home theater speakers. With their deep bass, smooth mids, and accurate highs, the THP800 Series excels in any home theater or stereo application where the best in high-fidelity in-ceiling speakers are desired.”

Since the line’s initial debut last year, TheaterPoint speakers have been honored with a prestigious MRAV Award and have received great critical acclaim. According to Steve Guttenberg’s recent rave product review for Home Theater Magazine, “ELAN Home Systems’ foray into home theater speaker design is not only a rousing success, the TheaterPoints converge on the sweet spot in the market by offering flexible solutions, adaptable to the widest possible range of home theaters. For once, you can design your theater, mixing in-wall, in-ceiling, and free standing speakers, to ensure domestic tranquility without forfeiting sonic satisfaction.”

Unlike many companies today that OEM parts or even the speakers themselves, THP Speakers have been meticulously engineered by ELAN from the ground up and set a new standard through the incorporation of exclusive, unique features. Relevant THP models have directed-sound through “pointable” tweeters with laser precision that provide that perfect sweet spot every time, regardless of the room. And, through use of an ELAN-provided special laser pointer, Dealers can easily calibrate the sound to each individual home theater. THP800 models are constructed with the finest materials. The THP803C’s boast Kevlar drivers, the THP802C’s possess graphite reinforced drivers and the THP801C’s contain mineral-filled polypropylene drivers. With all models retaining cast frames and specially braced cabinets, these speakers are among best in quality and sound performance. All models are also accompanied with an ELAN laser pointer for optimal sound location. Other common features include pivoting tweeters, easy 1-screw adjustment and removable baffle.

The THP800 series’ unique patent-pending, in-ceiling design allows the sound field to be steered directly into the optimal listening area. The 8 inch woofer is aimed directly downward for maximum dispersion. The midrange driver and tweeter are mounted in a fixed-plane, vibration-free, rotating assembly that allows them to be steered into the listening area, providing for better separation and mix of all frequencies.

In other TheaterPoint Home Theater Speaker news, the line’s THP6500SS On-wall Surround Sound Dipole model began shipping to Dealers this month. The THP6500SS combines innovation and esthetics with high-quality audio technology resulting in one of the finest on-wall surround sound speakers available today. THP6500SS features include a forward-firing 6.5 inch Kevlar woofer for maximum low frequency dispersion, opposing midrange/tweeter banks for optimal focusing of surround sound signals, and a 3-position (bright, neutral, warm) room compensation switch.

The THP802C and THP801C are expected to ship in the first quarter of 2007 and will be available for a MSRP of $375.00 and $300.00 each, respectively. THP803C speakers are currently available at the MSRP of $460.00 each. The THP650SS carries a $500.00 each MSRP. Other speakers in the TheaterPoint line range individually in price from $300.00 to $725.00 with complete Home Theater packages ranging in price from $2500.00 to $5500.00.
