DVDO, the industry leader in video processing systems and video processing semiconductors, announced today that it has begun shipping to dealers its new award-winning video processor and A/V hub, DVDO EDGE. EDGE will be available from specialty audio/video dealers across the U.S. through national and regional distribution, and it will also be available from national retailers, including Amazon.com, Buy.com, OneCall.com, and B&H Photo Video. Outside the U.S., EDGE will be available through DVDO’s network of international distributors and dealers.
EDGE has already been selected for two prestigious industry awards. Industry trade magazine Custom Retailer has given the Excite! Award for product innovation to EDGE, and EDGE was also named one of the “Top Ten Coolest Products” at CEDIA Expo by the New York Times Company’s About.com website.
“We are very pleased with the early response to EDGE,” said Baptiste Marmorat, DVDO Director of Worldwide Sales, Systems Products. “After seeing a uniformly enthusiastic response at CEDIA Expo, from the press and dealers alike, we have experienced a very strong initial buy-in from existing and new customers. We believe that EDGE will effectively create a new product category as the first affordable high performance video processor, and should make HDTV viewing easier and better for millions of viewers worldwide.”
EDGE upconverts all video formats, up to 1080p output, and improves image quality through its full complement of Anchor Bay’s Video Reference Series (VRS) technologies. EDGE is also the ultimate A/V hub, with 6 HDMI 1.3 “Deep Color” inputs, 2 HDMI 1.3 outputs and a complete array of analog and digital A/V connections. Its new user interface makes setup and operation simple, and there are a number of new customization features allowing users to personalize their own setups.
