Duals New Mobile Theater Features Complete iPod [R] Control, 7 Touch-Screen

Heathrow, FL, September 19, 2006 — Dual Electronics, a leader in innovative high performance/high value electronics for car and home, today announced it is shipping a new mobile theater system — XDVD8182 — that combines the best DVD-based entertainment options with full iPod control capability.

“Increasingly, consumers are using their iPods not only as portable players, but as a primary music source in their homes and cars,” commented Robb Groner, Director of Product Development, Namsung America, Inc., parent company of Dual Electronics. “At Dual, we see this trend as an opportunity to further integrate the mobile entertainment experience with what is clearly the most successful CE product in recent years by giving the consumer a soup-to-nuts system for enjoying their favorite music and video entertainment while on the road.”

Dual’s XDVD8182 (SRP: $699), features a generously-sized 7-inch touch-screen motorized TFT LCD display in widescreen format. The unit is compatible with DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, MP3 and WMA media, and is easily integrated even within the most sophisticated mobile entertainment systems, thanks to 5.1 channel preamp outputs, and one set of audio/video inputs. Additionally, there are two dedicated video outputs to drive optional headrest monitors, and a rear view camera input for enhanced safety.

When a user connects an iPod via the supplied interface cable, the XDVD8182 becomes a command center for the player. Information such as Playlist, Artist, Album, and Track are displayed on the unit’s LCD screen, which is also used for viewing videos stored on the player when the vehicle is not in motion and the parking brake is engaged.

The XDVD8182 also comes equipped with Dual’s newly upgraded iPlug audio/video interface cable for easy connectivity to any portable digital or analog media player with a 3.5mm headphone jack, and/or analog a/v outputs. The audio is powered by 200 watts of clean amplification, and users get exceptional flexibility with their radio broadcast programming, through 48 station presets with preset scan, auto station store, one-touch station memory and a choice of auto-seek or manual tuning.

Dual’s XDVD8182 DVD multimedia receiver with full iPod control is available at leading national retailers and select independent specialists.
