Burmester Introduces Elegant New B25 Speaker, Ideal for Home Theater and Two-Channel Listening

New Speaker Boasts Air Motion Transformer Tweeters, Kevlar Drivers, Powerful Oval Woofers, Top Build Quality, Other Reference-Level Features

CES ’08, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2008 — Burmester Audiosysteme, Germany’s leading manufacturer of high-performance electronics and speakers, introduces a slim, esthetically appealing speaker capable of filling even large rooms with a full, warm sound, at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show, beginning here today.

The new B25 Loudspeaker is ideal for use in a Home Theater or just listening to music. The speaker is a three-way, full-range, floorstanding model capable of reproducing all octaves down to the deepest bass foundation without losing a sense of naturalness and tonal balance, even at low listening levels. In performance, music reproduced by the speaker seems to float from a cloud rather than emanate from its cabinet. Built with exceptional attention to detail, every driver is burnt in a full 14 days before it’s measured and computer-matched in pairs at tolerances so low as to have been thought impossible.

A more affordable descendent of Burmester’s acclaimed Reference Line B100 Loudspeaker, the B25 shares many of the B100’s features, including Kevlar-coned midrange drivers, a powerful propulsion system with Neodymium magnets, and a B100-derived crossover custom-tailored for the drivers that delivers a very linear frequency response in the critical range between 300 and 3500Hz.

As in the B100, a new air motion transformer with an extended frequency range of 2,700 – 45,000 Hz is mounted in a small horn in each for highly efficient, very dynamic, high-frequency resolution. A side-firing oval woofer maximizes the cone surface, while conforming to the speaker’s slim design, and a powerful Ferrite magnet system enables the speaker to reproduce strong bass at a very high SPL.

Rated for 200 watts, the B25 stands 35.6 inches high, 7.9 inches wide and 13.8 inches deep. It features a 5-inch mid-range woofer, and an 8-1/4 x 6-1/4-inch side-firing oval woofer. The speaker is rated for sensitivity at 89 db, and has an impedance of 4 Ohms.

The speaker’s cabinet is made in Denmark with fine Danish craftsmanship, employing a composite of HDF and birch plywood. It’s available in a choice of Macassar ebony, Silver or Elsberry (comparable to Swiss pear) finishes for a luxurious final touch.

Burmester’s new B25 Speaker is available now at a suggested price of $9,995. It can be seen with the company’s other outstanding products in Suite 29-229, The Venetian Tower, during CES.
