MORGANVILLE, NJ, September 14, 2004–Aurora Multimedia Corp., an industry leader in interactive communications and technology, demonstrated its DIDO scaling technology at CEDIA Expo 2004. The DIDO unit features image enhancing capabilities including motion adaptive de-interlacing, low-angle directional interpolation, 3:2 & 2:2 inverse pull-down, moire cancellation color correction, adaptive flesh tone adjustments and image zoom and shrink.

“As a unit that can provide multiple-video-input manipulation, the DIDO is a nice addition to robust home theater systems,” states John Bilodeau, vice president of sales and marketing for Aurora Multimedia. “In addition to other functions, you can view a DVD, a videotape from your VCR, the football game and even your computer screen all at once on your high-resolution display. And the best part about it is that it’s really easy to use.”

The DIDO utilizes the powerful AARE (Aurora Advanced Rotation Engine) Picture-and-Picture (PAP) engine, which offers several modes of operation including, quad image or split screen images, image rotation and handles resolutions up to 1920 X 1200 @ 60Hz progressive.

The DIDO accepts digital and analog video inputs through a combination DVI/ RGBHV/ YPbPr connector and S-Video/Composite input connectors, and includes audio propagation delay compensation for correct sync with video. The unit also features 1080i to 1080p conversion and HDCP decoding on both DVI inputs, with motion adaptive deinterlacing up to HD1080i input.

In addition, the DIDO comes with a limited lifetime warranty and is firmware upgradeable. New firmware releases are easily uploaded to the unit with the Flash utility, both of which are available for free from Aurora’s website.
