ecoustics.com Announces New Editor in Chief and New Focus on the Next Generation of A/V Enthusiasts

We are charging into 2021 with a renewed focus and greatly expanded social media presence to best meet the needs of a growing market segment focused on vinyl, used and vintage, and more affordable high-end audio systems.

After more than 20 years of delivering daily content across a wide spectrum of consumer electronics categories, ecoustics is shifting gears and becoming more focused on the next generation of A/V enthusiasts.

“2020 gave us an opportunity to take a step back and look at the changing landscape in the world of consumer A/V media. With traffic growing by almost 27% each quarter, we realized that we needed to make some strategic changes to bolster the quality of our original content, improve the way we engage with the next generation of enthusiasts who have migrated to podcasts, Instagram, and YouTube, and develop a younger core group of contributors who have already developed significant social media communities that are interested in vinyl, used and vintage high-end audio components, personal audio, and more affordable high-end audio systems,” announced Brian Mitchell, Founder & CEO of ecoustics.com.

“Our home theater coverage will only continue to expand as the market has shifted in response to the pandemic, and we are very well positioned to deliver leading edge content in that category.”

“We have already expanded our roster of editorial staff with 3 established Instagram influencers covering vinyl, used and vintage audio, and budget hi-fi – expanding our social media reach on the platform to almost 52,000 followers,” announced Mitchell.

Between its comprehensive newsletter list, weekly traffic, and enlarged social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Soundcloud, LinkedIn, and future YouTube network which will include original short-form videos, and collaborations with some of the fastest growing consumer A/V channels on the platform, ecoustics.com is well positioned to connect with more than 500,000 music and CE enthusiasts each month.

Ecoustics.com is pleased to announce the addition of Eric Pye, also known as @audioloveyyc (on Instagram), who has developed one of the fastest growing used high-end and vintage audio communities on Instagram with over 17,000 followers. Through his new column, reviews of both hardware and vinyl, and contributions to ecoustics’ new podcast, “Between Your Ears”, Eric will be tasked with leading our charge into this neglected segment of the market.

“We are also very excited to announce the transition of Sr. Contributing Editor, Ian White, to the role of Editor in Chief. With more than 20 years of consumer A/V media experience, including roles at Gear Patrol, Digital Trends, SoundStage, Big Picture Big Sound, and Enjoy the Music, Ian brings decades of experience to the position. With more than 25 years of media content production experience in the personal finance, science, and engineering categories, he brings both a technical production background and understanding of the changing media landscape that will only help us grow,” announced Mitchell.

“There is a new generation of listeners out there who really don’t know what to buy,” remarked Brian Mitchell. “Our goal is to educate, entertain, and convert this passionate group of people into audio and video enthusiasts. We are already moving forward with new media partnerships that will be announced in the coming weeks and plan on creating new opportunities for manufacturers looking to connect with a new audience.”
