AG Neovo E-17A

Like the 19-inch AG Neovo X-19AV, which we reviewed in January 2005, the E-17A has an easy-to-clean, extra-hard screen surface. Unfortunately, this analog-only-input model didn't perform as well as its high-end sibling. Commendable text scores on our juried tests (at the monitor's default settings) resulted in a Very Good rating for text. But dull, washed-out images and loss of detail in light areas hurt it on our graphics tests, culminating in a lackluster score of Fair.

The E-17A's design features are somewhat mixed, too. Screen adjustments include five sharpness settings and four well-explained color presets, and the headphone jack is conveniently situated on the right side of the bezel. But its stand permits tilt adjustment only.

The AG Neovo E-17A's extra-hard optical filter is a nice touch, but better screen quality and physical adjustments would be more-compelling attributes.
