Although ViewSonic's VG510s hails from that company's graphics line, its strongest capabilities are in text display. With high scores in all three of our text tests, the VG510s earned an Outstanding rating for text. It also reproduced details with admirable clarity in our Web page test, and it showed more shades of gray in our grayscale test than most 15-inch monitors did. On the other hand, unrealistic flesh tones handicapped it on our group photo test screen. Overall, the VG510 earned a score of Good on graphics.

Excellent text and sharp details make this monitor a winner for black-and-white work.
