The Hyundai ImageQuest L50S arrives with one of the lowest prices--$330--that we've seen for a 15-inch LCD lately, but you get what you pay for. It earned the second-lowest score for graphics performance among the 15-inch LCD models we've tested recently, although it did eke out a rating of Good. Its lines and letters, though passable, were hazy enough to earn the L50S the second-lowest text score. Tested at default settings, the screen on our review unit appeared bluish and cold. A small gap opens in the stiff hinge when you tilt the screen, making the cabinetry seem flimsy. It's not all bad news: The 22-page PDF manual is well-organized, and its comic illustrations of anthropomorphic monitors suffering misuse encourage you to read the safety instructions. And the low price is hard to beat.
With its so-so image quality and limited physical adjustments, this unit's most attractive feature is its low price, but that price is only moderately lower than those of better-performing models.
