For ideal image quality, the Epson PhotoPC 3100Z emphasizes enhanced contrast and moderately saturated, realistic colors. This ergonomically shaped, 3-megapixel digital camera is one of the easiest to operate in its class, with well-placed controls and a simple but extensive menu structure. It offers fast boot-up time, no discernable shutter lag, and quick recycling.

The 3100Z comes with video and audio capabilities. The unit also includes Epson's HyPict technology, which boosts resolution to 2,544-by-1,904.

I had a Kodak DC265 last year with my Epson 1200 printer and was really impressed. Then I bought a Epson 3100z and I'm blown away. I take pics of my horse's and print out 8x10's and everybody wants to know what photographer I hired. These pictures are as good as my $1000 35mm.I still cant believe the quality. The only thing digital has to overcome is taking shots in the darkness.Close ups are fine but distance shots need some help. Overall I highly recommend this camera and this company. 5 years ago I wouldn't have thought Epson as a leader in techonolgy but between there high end camera's and printers they are the leaders. I did have my battery charger stop working after 6 months on the camera.I called Epson direct and they Fed Ex a new charger and spare batteries for the trouble.I didn't expect them to Fed Ex my charger much alone give me new batteries for my trouble.I'm impressed and thats not easy to do. I've taken over 2300 pictures and still as good as new.
