Dell Vostro 410

Dell Vostro 410
Full Set Left Angle Close-up of Ports

REVIEW

Looking for a small-business PC with a bit of zip to it? Consider the Dell Vostro 410 ($1,508 direct with E-Value code 99999-brcg5ke). It's the big brother, in both size and power, to the Vostro 200 and 400, introduced last year. The Vostros are Dell's PC line for small businesses and sole proprietorships. The Vostro 410 updates the line with more internal space for components, faster quad-core CPUs, and more powerful 3D graphics. The version I looked at is a good compromise between the high-end multimedia consumer PC you thought you were going to buy for your business and the staid yet underpowered business system you had on your short list. It's for the smallish (1- to 30-user) business without a full-time IT staffer.

The Dell Vostro 410 is a powerful PC for small businesses. A single business user will be happy with the high-end performance, added features, and no bloatware.

Pros

Minimal bloatware. Lots of expansion space. Quad-core performance. High-powered 3D. 15-month Internet Security subscription. Windows XP, or XP plus Vista discs to upgrade, are options.

Cons

One-year warranty. A little pricey. Could be more energy efficient. Included online storage is only one year.
