Buffalo LinkTheater HD

Buffalo LinkTheater HD
With Remote Front Remote Control

REVIEW

Buffalo Technologies may have hit a sweet spot with the LinkTheater. Priced at $199 (list), it offers high-definition video streaming at 720p or 1080i, an HDMI port, and simple-to-use software. Compared with the original LinkTheater, the HD version drops the wireless compatibility and DVD tray but adds high-definition video support while knocking $100 off the price. In addition to supporting DNLA (Digital Living Network Alliance)-compatible media servers, the LinkTheater HD lets you connect USB hard discs and flash drives directly to the two USB ports on the front of the unit. This is something SageTV doesn't get right with its otherwise solid HD Media Extender, whose USB ports are nonfunctional and which has only MIA external disk support.
