Puget Deluge-i L2

Puget Deluge-i L2
Open Angle Top Coils Front Open

REVIEW

The Puget Deluge-i L2 ($6,030 direct) is a high-end gaming system in every sense of the term. A large machine, it makes its presence known in the room, posts blazing performance numbers, and is obscenely expensive. While I enjoy reviewing exotic, overclocked systems like the Deluge-i L2, I can't help but suspect that this particular configuration is for those with more money than sense. Sure, the Deluge absolutely aced some of our benchmarks, but on the most crucial gaming tests, all that sound and fury from the overclocking and liquid cooling yield barely any improvement over much cheaper gaming systems that have only one graphics card and minimal overclocking.

Bottom Line

The Puget Systems Deluge-i L2 is one of those insanely overclocked gaming systems made for the hard-core gamer with a spring-loaded wallet. It's a top scorer on some of the benchmark tests, but the extra gaming performance doesn't really justify the added price.

Pros

Blazing performance numbers. Impressive overclocking job. No bloatware. Lifetime warranty on tech support and labor (one year for parts).

Cons

Water cooling, which requires maintenance. Too expensive. A little loud. Edge in gaming performance is not worth extra expense. Difficult to upgrade.
