Fuji FinePix s8100fd

Fuji FinePix s8100fd
Screen Side Left Angle Front

REVIEW

For photography enthusiasts who feel limited by basic point-and-shoot cameras but aren't quite ready to take on D-SLRs, superzoom cameras, which are easy to use and offer advanced features and some manual modes, can be a happy medium. With its 18X zoom lens, the Fuji FinePix s8100fd is considered a superzoom, but alas, when compared with other models, such as the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 it comes up a bit short. While its price is in line with that of other superzooms, its image quality and features are mediocre.

Bottom Line

The S8100fd's price is in line with that of other superzoom models, but its image quality and features come up a bit short.

Pros

Reasonably priced. 18X zoom. Wide-angle lens. Super Macro mode.

Cons

Autofocus is slow, especially at maximum zoom. Flash shots are overexposed. Dual image stabilization creates blurry images. Noise is apparent in images above ISO 400.
