Samsung ML-1630

Samsung ML-1630
Top Right Angle Front

review

Call it stylish, call it snazzy, call it a decorator-designed printer. I'm talking about the Samsung ML-1630 ($200 street), a personal laser printer with a high-gloss, piano-black finish, pretty blue lights that flash as it prints, and a focus on visual design. This is all well and good, but once you get past the good looks, you still have to ask how good a printer it is. The answer, alas, is that there's more here to excite your inner interior decorator than your inner computer geek. Depending on your needs, that may be enough.

Bottom Line

The Samsung ML-1630 won't win any awards for speed or output quality, but it can do the job it's meant for, and it just might win a design award for good looks.

Pros

Sleek styling. Easy setup. Small and lightweight.

Cons

Relatively slow. Low paper capacity. Text is slightly below par, though easily good enough for most business needs.
