Editor's Note: LTB sent PC Magazine a second review unit after reading our review. The second unit exhibited fewer stuttering and drop out issues than the original Q-Bean model sent to us, but the overall performance in terms of range and sound-quality was the same. Thus our rating remains unchanged.
The Q-Bean-U Headphone Link is a wireless audio transmitter and controller that performs pretty wellprovided you don't move. Unfortunately, the cheap plastic design of the orange-and-silver Q-Bean-U is about as graceful as its name. Plug the Puck Transmitter into your computer's USB port, pair the Q-Bean to the transmitter, and just like that, not only can you listen to a quality audio stream, but you can also pause, play, and skip tracks, be it via iTunes, Windows Media Player, or the Web. Just take care not to fidget around because, sadly, actions as simple as getting up to take a walk can result in audio stuttering galore.
