Verizon G'zOne Type-S

Verizon G'zOne Type S
Underwater Jen Open Angle Front Closed

review

If you'd prefer your phone to do your swimming while you remain on dry land, the waterproof G'zOne Type-S, with its Bluetooth connectivity, will keep you chatting as the surf pounds. But I honestly prefer the previous model, the G'zOne Type-V. That said, Casio's second rugged phone made for the US, the G'zOne Type-S will be your cheerful companion in the bathtub, swimming pool, salty surf, or rain forest. I first took mine to the bottom of a swimming pool, made calls with the phone half under water ("glub glub glub"), placed Bluetooth calls with the phone in a jug of water (they sounded totally normal) and, finally, froze the G'zOne into a block of ice and let it slowly thaw back to normalcy.

Bottom Line

Verizon's second waterproof phone can do aquatic acrobatics just as well as its predecessor, but doesn't quite measure up in terms of voice quality and features.

Pros

Works underwater. Extremely rugged. Bluetooth.

Cons

Quiet speakerphone. Difficult to get photos off of phone. Low-res camera. No EVDO or analog.
