Above Angle Angle Back Ports

review

It may sound crazy, but I'm sure there are a few folks out there who want to reap the benefits of owning an Apple iPod without messing with a computer. For these technologically shy individuals, there's the iLoad from Wingspan. The concept of the product is simple: It loads CDs directly onto your iPod, eliminating those pesky middlemen, the PC and iTunes.

Bottom Line

For people who are perhaps afraid of their computers or don't own one, the iLoad offers an interesting workaround.

Pros

Transfers CDs to your Apple iPod without a computer. Retrieves song-title data via Ethernet connection. Easy to use. Can back up iPod contents using an external drive.

Cons

Sneakily installs software on your iPod. Software alphabetizes artists beginning with "the" under T. Rather loud for a modern device. Pricey.
