review

Now that the Blu-ray format has finally established itself as a viable high-definition video option, hardware companies are eager to put their mark on the category. One such company is LaCie, headquartered in France and well known for repackaging peripherals using its design know-how, with products ranging from portable storage solutions and displays to tiny USB keys. The LaCie d2 Blu-ray drive targets customers who have tons of HD video to offload. You can watch Blu-ray movies, too, provided your PC is configured with the right equipment. Alas, the hefty price ($1,049.99 direct) will have you looking for other alternatives.
