In a world where GPS products increasingly look like mere commodities, it's nice to see some real innovation. That's precisely what you get with the new Maestro 4040 from Magellan. First, it sports a new form factor with a completely revamped user interface. Second, Magellan has formed a strategic partnership with the American Automobile Association and has built the AAA TourBook and roadside-assistance information right into the 4040.

Large, 4.3 inch screen. New, improved user interface. AAA TourBook and roadside-assistance location. Powered by SiRFStar III receiver. Supports multisegment routing and is upgradable to live traffic and voice commands.

Cons

Bluetooth phone interface isn't as robust as on other GPS products. No auto-zoom or auto-volume ability.
