Fujitsu LifeBook S2210

Fujitsu LifeBook S2210
Angle Optical Reader Front

review

Just when you thought the well of AMD-based laptops was running dry, in comes Fujitsu with another Turion X2–based business ultraportable. The LifeBook S2210 is an upgrade to Fujitsu's long-standing S2000 line, appealing to customers who spend more time on the road than in the office. It runs on an AMD dual-core processor, albeit a 1.6-GHz TL-52, but the preloaded 2GB of RAM is exactly what you'll need to run Windows Vista Business. Three configurations are available for the S2210; I reviewed the high-end model ($1,979 list), which is probably not what you want unless your company enjoys squandering money. I'll tell you why the basic, $1,299 model is a better fit for your company.

Bottom Line

The Fujitsu LifeBook S2210 business ultraportable has a larger-than-average screen and a built-in optical drive. The base model is the best value.

Pros

4-pounder with a 13.3-inch screen. Optical drive is modular.

Cons

Below-average processor. Middling performance. Top-tier configuration is overpriced.
