Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station

Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station
Right Angle Ports Angle Underside

review

The new AirPort Extreme Wireless Base Station is typical Apple: high quality, unique, and a little pricey ($179 direct). Together with a suite of notebook and desktop computers that support 802.11n, this access point gives Apple a solid line of wireless products for consumers and small businesses. But the company offers only one 802.11n router, and, considering the price, I'd like to see Gigabit LAN ports. Small workgroups with two or more people connecting wirelessly at the same time would benefit, as would consumers who want to stream multimedia to several areas of the house simultaneously. In the end, still unique features distinguish the AirPort Extreme and help justify its cost.
