Genius SW-Flat 2.1 850 speakers suffer from a litany of problems, the most fundamental being poor audio quality. Granted, for $50 you can't expect stellar sound, but the 850s simply don't meet even those lowered expectations.

Bottom Line

Even at a bargain price, poor sound quality and design flaws make it hard to recommend these speakers.

Pros

Sleek design. Distortion-free, even at maximum volume.

Cons

Poor sound quality; weak subwoofer. Headphone and line-in jacks seem cheaply made. Cloth on speakers collects dust easily. Headphone jack emits hum.
