I thought I'd wandered into the Twilight Zone when I heard a Hewlett-Packard rep claim that the key advantages laser printers are supposed to have over ink jetsbetter speed, higher quality text, and a lower cost per pageare all myths. This was startling because HP is well known as the 900-pound gorilla in the laser printer market. But the subject at hand was the HP Officejet Pro L7680 All-In-One ($399 direct). HP's point was that this ink jetbased AIO could duke it out with color laser all-in-ones costing almost twice as much and come out on top. I'd argue that HP is exaggerating the L7680's capabilitiesbut only by a little.
