Nikon Coolpix S7c

review

I'm at a Starbucks in New York City. I've just ordered one of those notoriously hard-to-pronounce cups of coffee, but that's not why I'm really here. My primary agenda is to test Nikon's Coolpix Connect e-mail service, which is bundled with the Coolpix S7c, the company's new 7.1-megapixel wireless point-and-shoot camera. Although I have a few quibbles, this is the best wireless camera on the market.

Bottom Line

Nikon takes the lead in the wireless-camera race by including some novel features on its cool new shooter, such as the ability to e-mail your photos directly from the device. Still, it's far from perfect.

Pros

Easy-to-use Coolpix Connect e-mail feature. Attractive design. Excellent 3-inch LCD screen. Nice price considering all its abilities. Very good image quality.

Cons

Some wireless functions can be confusing. Performance could be better. Noticeable shutter lag. Can't e-mail full-resolution shots.
