Lenovo 3000 J115

275
Angle Front Keyboard

review

Lenovo continues to branch out from its ThinkCentre model line with the basic 3000 series of desktops. Last year's J105 system has been replaced with the Lenovo 3000 J115 ($678 direct, $917 with 19-inch widescreen LCD monitor). The J115 represents a great value for the small-business owner. It's powerful enough to handle most general business tasks without the hassle of the specialized hardware found in more corporate-oriented PCs. In addition, it offers upgrade capabilities to handle your digital life. The J115 is a good business-home multitasker.

Pros

Sub-$1,000 price with widescreen monitor. Lenovo Care tools (aka ThinkVantage utilities). Lots of included software. Decent expansion space. Dual-core AMD X2 processor. Windows Vista Premium-ready.

Cons

Some software is trialware and bloatware. No DVD burner. Only 90-day Norton Internet Security subscription. Could use a multimedia card reader.
