Fujitsu LifeBook N6420

Fujitsu Lifebook N6420
Front Back Angle

review

There are usually several forces involved in making the ideal Media Center laptop. Not the least is having the kind of features that distinguish it as a full-fledged entertainment system. With the imposing 10-pound frame and 17-inch widescreen of its predecessor, the Fujitsu LifeBook N6420 is regarded by many as a Media Center. But even with the addition of an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and an HD DVD-ROM drive, the N6420 is still a couple of features shy of competing with the likes of Toshiba and HP in the category.

The HD DVD-ROM is a nice addition, but Fujitsu will need to add an HDMI or DVI out port, more RAM, and an internal remote sensor to compete with Media Center notebooks from HP and Toshiba.

Pros

Fast processor. Offers an HD DVD-ROM drive.

Cons

No HDMI or DVI output ports. TV tuner card no longer comes standard. Minuscule battery life. Enormous frame.
