Gateway E-6610D SB

Gateway E-6610D SB
Full Set Optical Drive Tower Angle

review

Gateway produces business PCs that run the gamut from value-based systems for your worker bees to high-powered multicore workstations for your star employees. The E-6610D SB ($1,582 direct) falls somewhere near the top. Much more powerful than the value-priced small-business systems out there, it can certainly handle the high-intensity projects you may find yourself working on in the early days of starting a business.

Bottom Line

If you're looking for a bit more horsepower for your small business, but don't need a $5,000 graphics workstation with quad-core Xeon processors, take a look at the Gateway E-6610D SB. It has plenty of power for a small business, even a graphics-based one.

Pros

High-powered graphics for business. Core 2 Duo power. Speedy, 10,000-rpm hard drive. FireWire ports. Workstation-class graphics card that can handle 30-inch displays. Quiet BTX design. Vista-capable. Extra PCIe x16 slot for extra graphics card.

Cons

The hard drive on our review unit is a little small for graphics work. Only comes with a 90-day Internet Security subscription. Case interior is a little cluttered. Gateway currently doesn't have a 30-inch panel.
