HP Compaq dx2200 Business Desktop PC

HP Compaq dx2200 Business Desktop PC

review

By name, the HP Compaq dx2200 Business Desktop PC ($509 direct, $709 with 17-inch LCD monitor) is a mouthful. It's also a very good value business PC for those who really don't want or need to spend more than $710. It isn't sexy, but if your needs are more clerical than graphical, the dx2200 is a business PC that will fulfill your requirements without hurting your bottom line.

Bottom Line

If your business needs a basic clerical PC, the HP Compaq dx2200 Business Desktop PC is it. It's (barely) Vista-compatible, and has the upgrade space to take you to the places you need to go for the next few years.

Pros

Nice price. Quiet operation. Configurable with FreeDOS. Vista-capable.

Cons

Without upgrades, compatible only with Vista Basic (or business without the graphics). Pentium 4 is hyper-threaded, not dual-core.
