bug artFalcon Northwest has a great track record in shipping gaming PCs that offer superlative performance (case in point: this summer's Falcon Northwest Mach V with Core 2 Extreme). The Medford, Oregon, company has been catering exclusively to hard-core gamers for over a decade now, and the experience shows. Enter the latest iteration of the company's high-end gaming system—the Mach V Quad-Core—which arrived on the scene with Intel's new quad-core Core 2 Extreme QX6700 CPU. Overclocked to 3.6 GHz—over 800 MHz above the default 2.66 GHz—it pushes the speed limit.

Bottom Line

Falcon Northwest updates its venerable Mach V gaming system with quad-core graphics and dual nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX graphics cards. The CPU adds a little kick, but the paired 8800 GTX cards are the real stars here, pushing frame rates up to surreal levels.

Pros

Intel quad-core CPU (overclocked to 3.6 GHz). Two nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX graphics cards in SLI mode. Custom paint job makes for a very personal system.

Cons

Really expensive. Case is getting a little long in the tooth.
