HP Pavilion d4650y

HP Pavilion d4650y
Full Set Tower Front Tower Back

review

The HP Pavilion d4650y adds Intel Core 2 duo goodness to an already proven multimedia powerhouse system (the form factor started way back with the Pavilion d4100y). It's a high-end multimedia PC catering to those who have serious video hobbies—such as teenagers who shoot and edit their own videos and post them on YouTube—or who continuously record and catalog their favorite TV shows. With its limitless storage capabilities and dual TV tuners, the d4560y would make a good home media server that can hold all of your photos, music, pictures, and videos in one place.

Bottom Line

HP's entry into the Core 2 Duo stakes, the HP Pavilion d4560y, is a high-powered multimedia system for the media enthusiast. It's strong enough to work on photo, video, and music projects, plus it has the expandable drive space to store your projects with the removable HP Personal Media Drive.

Pros

Lots of drive space. Easily expandable drive space with HP Personal Media Drives. Dual NTSC tuners. Plethora of input and output ports.

Cons

Boring styling. 19-inch monitor is only 1,280-by-1,024 resolution. Too many preloaded apps. No speakers in package.
