Because of its large size, when you first get your hands on the Samsung Pro815, you'll probably think you're holding a full D-SLR. In fact, it's a little bigger than some D-SLRs, such as the Canon Rebel XT and the new Rebel XTi. This camera has some great features, but when it comes to the nuts and bolts of taking photos, using it is a hit-or-miss experience.

Bottom Line

Samsung seems to have a hit-or-miss approach when it comes to the Pro815, which is why this superzoom and enthusiast camera didn't score higher.

Pros

Decent image quality. Longest zoom and biggest LCD for a fixed-lens point-and-shoot digital camera. Wide-angle end of the zoom range reaches 28mm. Includes manual-focus ring. Lots of options.

Cons

Some shutter lag in non-flash situations. Big and bulky. No image stabilization. Limited to 30-second video clips.
